Podere Borgaruccio is a farmhouse where wine and extra virgin olive oil are mainly produced.
Between Pontedera and Volterra there is a countryside characterized by gentle hills and medieval villages, woods, wheat fields, vineyards and olive groves. This is Alta Valdera, the part of the province of Pisa crossed by the Era River. An area full of great environmental, cultural, food and wine attractions and therefore tourism.

Vineyards, set in the middle of the woods, are spread for more than 5 hectares (5 acres), with plots of land dating back to the early 1970's and other more recent ones dating back to 2010. They are cultivated with guyot and spurred cordon systems with more than 4,500 vines per Ha.
Among our vineyards you will find the classic Tuscan grapes, Sangiovese for red wines and Trebbiano for white wines with some modern nuances such as Cabernet and Malvasia. Wide and ambitious projects of ampelographic expansion are in progress in order to always improve our wines.
Podere Borgaruccio extra virgin olive oil is produced from the wise mixture of olives produced by the secular olive trees that surround it. The olives are hand-picked directly from the tree very early in the season and this helps to produce an oil richer in vitamins and nutrients and capable of a long shelf life.

The Alta Valdera is, as a whole, a territory suitable for trekking, for the numerous paths that run through hills and woods, where you can even find waterfalls and sulphurous springs. And for gourmets there is always a particular festival. In Peccioli, in spring, there is the festival of ham and pods, and in August that of pasta. Other festivals are in the hamlets of Peccioli: of the new oil in Ghizzano in February, of the snails in Legoli in June, of the cabbage soup and of the fried rabbit alla fabbrichese in Fabbrica in July.
. In October it's time for chestnut festivals: the main ones are those of Orciatico and, above all, that of the chestnut, which in the middle of the month attracts many people to Rivalto, the hamlet of Chianni. The same Chianni is instead the scene in November for almost half a century of the festival of the wild boar of Chianni, which lasts for almost ten days, while in Peccioli the year ends with the exhibition market of wine and oil.
Valdera, as well as being an area of production of great olive oils, is crossed by the Road of the great wines of the Pisan Hills.
